Troubleshooting tips
App crashes or freezes on launch
Make sure you're running the latest version of Speaker Cleaner from the App Store. If the issue persists, restart your iPhone — most launch issues resolve after a fresh boot.
No sound playing during cleaning
Check that your iPhone's volume is turned up to maximum and Silent Mode is disabled (the switch on the left side of your iPhone should not show orange). The cleaning tones rely on full volume to push water out effectively.
Speaker still sounds muffled after cleaning
Run the cleaning cycle two to three more times for best results. Hold the iPhone with the speaker grille pointing straight down so gravity assists water removal. If sound doesn't improve after multiple cycles, the water may be deeper inside the device — let your iPhone air-dry for 24 to 48 hours and try again.
Decibel meter showing inaccurate readings
The decibel meter uses your iPhone's microphone. Make sure microphone permissions are enabled for Speaker Cleaner under Settings → Privacy & Security → Microphone. Background noise affects readings — for accurate measurements, test in a controlled environment.
Tone Generator not producing sound
Confirm volume is at maximum and Silent Mode is off. If you're using Bluetooth headphones or speakers, the audio routes there instead — disconnect Bluetooth or turn it off to play through the iPhone speaker.
